Buying a 12V Car Mini Fridge with Freezer

Tag: Cars & MotorcyclesJanice @ 2:29 am

Anyone who’s ever spent much time driving in the backcountry is probably well aware of the benefits a mini fridge with freezer can add when installed in your vehicle. This article explores how to go about shopping for a 12 V refrigerator freezer unit for your rig.

The most important thing to know about car fridges is that there is some real junk out there. If you simply go down to the nearest store and purchased the cheapest 12v fridge for sale you can find, you’ll most likely be sorely disappointed with the results.

These discount 12v fridge freezers are usually absorption style appliances. While this type of refrigerator is great for use with LPG, they are terribly inefficient when used as a 12 V refrigerator. Not only this, but they are relatively temperamental. In order to operate correctly they must be operated on a very smooth and level surface; on uneven surfaces the cooling system will not function smoothly.

Clearly these attributes make this type of cheap 12v fridge very undesirable for use in an expedition vehicle. More appropriate for these needs are high quality 12 V compressor style mini fridge freezers. I mini fridge with freezer that operates using this technology is generally going to be very energy-efficient, and a lot more forgiving of bumps than an absorption style refrigerator.

For this reason it is best to avoid those 12v fridges for sale at your local store and purchase a high quality compressor model instead. Manufacturers like Engel and National Luna are going to be some of your best choices. Whilst they are not cheap – $700 or more in fact – they are exceptionally high quality mini fridges with freezers and are ideal for in car use.

Whatever model you buy for your vehicle, think of it as a long-term investment and picture the enjoyment it will bring next time you are in the backcountry.

When Quality Really Counts

You’re looking up at three tons of steel on wheels. If the job is diagnosing a problem or repairing a vehicle, you just can’t really concentrate on your work if you have to wonder about the safety and reliability of your car hoist.
There are plenty of different hoists on the market. First you need to decide which model will fit your needs. Some hoists are designed for you to work in a pit below floor level. These are split up by the depth of the pit you have. They can range from twenty feet to three or four feet deep. There are several high quality lifts to use in this type of application. You also need to determine the weight of the vehicles you want to lift, and buy one that will safely tolerate that load. There are a number of different designs for car hoists. Two post, four post, scissor lifts, in ground lifts. mobile column lifts, parallelogram lifts, and other specialty designs are available. You will need to consider if the model you choose can compensate for floors which aren’t level. Space available will also be a factor. In my opinion, the number one consideration has to be safety. Some hoists use screw gears. Others use hydraulics along with cables. You will want to look closely at the safety lock systems. Does the hoist have a backup lock system? Also, the locks need to release at the same time. If one of the locks doesn’t release the result could be a disaster
Of course, cost is going to be considered. Prices start at around $1500 and go up from there. Also, be sure the model you choose is certified by ALI, NRTL,ANSI, and OSHA. These are all reliable sources for product testing and safety of your hoist.

Safety Tips for Shopping Over the Internet

Tag: Cars & Motorcycles,Finance & MoneyJanice @ 11:00 pm

In this highly advanced digital age where everyone communicates through the online medium, shopping in itself has also evolved to accommodate these burgeoning shoppers. Shopping online can be very advantageous especially for busy individuals, you can easily avoid the traffic, the waiting and the long line at the counter, it is open 24 hours and you can easily browse through items and compare costs but the downside is that the internet is also home to a lot of scammers. In dealing with online shopping, one should know the basic rules to ensuring that you are paying for a real product through a legitimate online retailer.

Look for a Secured Connection

Legitimate online retailers will always carry a SSL or SET connection which allows them to keep your personal payment content secured. Check the URL in your browser before purchasing and verify if it has a padlock icon and look for the https in your URL browser instead of the usual http. If these are not present, then immediately click the x button and look for shopping opportunities in other sites.

Always Compare Prices

The internet is now home to a wealth of products that can run from clothes, gadgets, books, house, cars and insurance policies. In looking for items online, make sure to verify the price of your item by comparing them with other online retailers. You can easily find sites that compare prices of almost any item, such as HDTV discounts, home furnishings, or an auto insurance comparison.

Buy from a Reputable Seller

An established name is tantamount to protection for your purchase. Always conduct your business with legitimate and reputable companies, when in doubt you can always verify their status by calling up their office numbers and ask them to send you a copy of their brochure or latest product catalogue. As we have often been told, “it is better to be safe than sorry”.

Check for Additional Fees

Before proceeding with your purchase, be sure to check the agreement for any other additional fees, the most common would be the shipping fee, you should take this in to consideration in purchasing your item and if you have time, browse again and see if you can find the same product from other retailers that gives free shipping. Also check on their return policies should any problems ensue.

Pay Securely

Credit cards are still the most secure way to pay online as they are built with protection tools to safeguard your finances. Another safe mode of payment is through escrow services such PayPal or AlertPay.
