Benidorm Hotels have By-Laws
Benidorm has become popular since the 1960s because of the beautiful beaches and the rich culture the locals have. This means that the number of tourists has increased to about 5 million tourists per year. The beaches are becoming over populated by the day as the tourists enjoy the sun and at night, when the parties start, the streets of Benidorm, come alive. The tourists may tend to misbehave especially if the numbers are too high so the government decided to lay down a few laws. These laws help the Benidorm hotels maintain order and peace.
The first law was that there were curfews for the beach. The law stipulates that the beaches are not to be occupied between mid night and 7 am. This applies to every day of the week. The tourists had a tendency of getting drunk and sleeping on the beach. Some went to extents of being indecent on the beaches. This became a serious matter especially since the hotels also had children as guests. There are also activities, for example some ball games, that were banned from taking place on the beach. You are not allowed to urinate in the sea and this is for obvious reasons like hygiene. When tourists were allowed to build sand castles during the day, it made it very difficult for those who cleaned the beach at night so they were prohibited. This is done to ensure the beaches are clean every morning for the tourists as well as locals.
Tourists are also not allowed to drink alcohol on the beach. In order to make sure that the tourists will abide, there are fines to be imposed. If you are found on the beach between midnight and 7 am, you will pay a fine of 750 Euros. Benidorm hotels are advised to inform their tourists about the new by-laws.
